Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and dependable Block Layers / Laborers to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in laying bricks, blocks, and stones, as well as assisting with various masonry and building material installation tasks. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to the successful completion of diverse construction projects, from residential renovations to large-scale commercial builds. Duties
- Assist with the layout, measurement, and interpretation of construction plans and schematics to ensure accurate placement of materials.
- Lay bricks, blocks, stones, and concrete units following blueprint specifications and safety protocols.
- Prepare surfaces by mixing mortar, applying caulking, plastering, or stucco as needed for various building finishes.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install masonry units and related materials.
- Build masonry scaffolding and perform concrete forming and finishing tasks to ensure structural integrity.
- Support rebar installation, metal stud framing, roofing, and other building material installations as directed.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while adhering to all safety standards on-site.
Skills
- Proven experience in masonry work including bricklaying, stone masonry, concrete masonry or related construction fields.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret blueprint specifications accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as trowels, levels, hammers, chisels along with power tools for cutting and shaping materials.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites including scaffold building and heavy machinery use.
- Experience with renovation projects, restoration work, or commercial building is highly desirable.
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
