Job Summary
Neighborhood artisan bakery seeking a dynamic and experienced Artisan Bakery Production Manager with experience in artisan breads, natrual leavening, and laminated pastries to lead bakery production operations. The main objectives of the Production Manager are to lead, nurture, encourage, and commit to the success of the team. As a leader, the ability to approach all interactions from a place of appreciation, treat everyone with dignity, lead by example, and communicate clearly with enthusiasm and positivity is crucial. You will lead hiring, interviewing, working-interviews, and training new hires, while focusing on communicating our core values, equipping your team for success, and setting the tone for bakery culture. In this role, you will oversee a team of 8-12, plan seasonal menus, recipe development, daily production, quality checks, inventory counts, supply orders, staff professional development, and in-house/ wholesale customer orders. It is important to conduct daily responsibilities with professionalism and have a focus on optimizing team morale, productivity, and efficiency.
Duties
- Define, execute, and delegate daily tasks with enthusiasm and positivity
- Maintain daily communication with owner and Front of house manager regarding any and all pertinent information
- Convey information from ownership to the production team
- Field customer inquiries regarding products and special orders.
- Collaborate with front of house management to execute special orders and anticipate production needs
- Maintain an up-to-date Serve Safe Manager Certification and uphold health safety standards
- Hire/Terminate/ Onboard production staff with guidance from General Manager
- Conduct working interviews and train new hires
- Provide support and resources for all production associates
- Actively support employee’s morale, including regular check in meetings, conflict resolution and mediation, and workload management
- Mentor staff and facilitate continued professional development
- Maintain a weekly schedule for all production associates/ facilitate PTO and sick time staffing
- Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy department, delegating and scheduling cleaning tasks
- Recipe development, documentation, and costing
- Manage cost containment and loss control
- Plan and execute weekly production based on sales trends, pre-orders, and special occasions
- Process development, documentation, and implementation
- Problem solve recipes and procedures for beneficial change and continual improvement
- Oversee procurement, vendor relations, and product ordering
- Anticipate and proactively plan (3 months in advance) for seasonal menu and holiday offerings
- Communicate seasonal offerings with entire bakery staff and conduct menu briefings
- Assist with wholesale orders, reporting, and delivery processes and overseeing Delivery Driver
- Collaborate with Social Media Coordinator and bakery leadership
- Seasonally plan holiday and special event production; including staff scheduling, order management, proactive production, and menu development
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
