RISE Academy is an alternative high school within Lawrence Public Schools. RISE is a trauma-informed school, grounded in restorative justice, that values relationships and mutual respect with the belief that all students want to be successful in school. RISE students learn in a competency-based structure in an academic and social-emotional program that works to prepare students for an ever-changing world after high school.

Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver a comprehensive medical science curriculum aligned with state and district standards.
Teach foundational topics such as human anatomy, physiology, medical ethics, health careers, infection control, and CPR/basic first aid.
Integrate career and technical education practices to expose students to a variety of health-related careers.
Facilitate lab activities, demonstrations, simulations, and project-based learning.
Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, or internships related to the healthcare industry when applicable.
Maintain a safe and well-organized classroom and laboratory environment.
Assess student performance regularly and provide meaningful feedback.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and progress.
Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support student success.
Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development.
