Job Summary
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to ensure the highest standards of food safety and product quality in our manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for compliance with company policies, customer specifications, and governmental regulations, while working closely with production and management teams to maintain excellence across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify labels on manufacturing work orders.
- Ensure production processes meet food safety and quality standards.
- Inspect packaging for seals, codes, dates, and overall appearance.
- Verify accuracy and condition of materials (bags, boxes, labels, product).
- Enforce GMP compliance and report incidents to management.
- Assist with PPE and custodial supply inventory reporting.
- Verify food safety, defense, quality, and SQF documentation.
- Maintain required food safety training and certifications.
- Support customer and company certification audits.
- Communicate effectively with production and management teams.
- Assist with laboratory testing as requested by QA Manager.
- Place products on hold when standards are not met.
- Report any known food safety issues immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- 1 year of manufacturing experience (food processing preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent; strong math skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Proficiency in MS Office and production software.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Training in food safety and quality standards.
- Punctual, dependable, and able to meet safety/cleanliness requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Stand for extended periods; walk, climb, reach, push, and pull.
- Use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, and feel.
- Ability to climb ladders/steps and work on platforms.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell.
- Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, and cleaning chemicals.
