As we continue to grow, we're looking for a talented and motivated CAD/CAM Dental Appliance Designer to join our production team.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD/CAM Designer with at least one year of professional experience in digital design and 3D printing.

The ideal candidate has experience using Blender and other 3D design software, understands additive manufacturing workflows, and enjoys solving technical challenges.

You will be responsible for transforming digital dental scans into accurate, production-ready designs for orthodontic appliances and dental sleep devices.

Dental industry experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong 3D modeling skills and the ability to learn specialized dental workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design custom orthodontic appliances and dental sleep devices using Blender and other CAD/CAM software.
• Review, import, and prepare intraoral scans and digital dental models.
• Develop accurate, patient-specific appliance designs according to established specifications and production requirements.
• Prepare and optimize digital models for resin-based 3D printing.
• Evaluate designs for accuracy, fit, functionality, and manufacturability.
• Identify and correct digital design errors before production.
• Collaborate with the 3D printing and finishing teams to maintain efficient production workflows.
• Troubleshoot issues involving digital models, software, and printed appliances.
• Maintain organized digital files and accurate production records.
• Follow established quality control procedures and manufacturing guidelines.
• Recommend workflow improvements to increase production efficiency and consistency.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in CAD/CAM design and 3D printing.
• Experience using Blender or comparable 3D modeling software, with the ability to become proficient in Blender.
• Understanding of 3D modeling, mesh manipulation, and digital manufacturing principles.
• Experience preparing models for additive manufacturing.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting production deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Dental laboratory or orthodontic appliance design experience.
• Familiarity with 3Shape, Exocad, or specialized dental CAD software.
• Experience working with STL and other dental digital file formats.
• Knowledge of dental anatomy, occlusion, and appliance design principles.
• Experience designing splints, retainers, orthodontic appliances, or sleep devices.
• Familiarity with resin-based 3D printing technologies, including SLA and DLP
• Experience with Blender add-ons, mesh repair tools, or workflow automation.
• Understanding of digital dental manufacturing processes.

Pay: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour
