Supervisor - Ripple Cafe - Cambridge

Ripple Cafe is a specialty cafe located in Dorchester & Cambridge. Ripple's mission is to bring innovation to the world of coffee. A visually and musically creative cafe that composes beautiful and immersive design experiences and carefully crafted caffeinated drinks. This position is for the Cambridge location

We are seeking a Supervisor of operations for the store.

Staffing:

• Ensure that all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs are followed and completed on a timely basis.
• Schedule staff hours and assign duties.
• Help perform food preparation and service tasks, such as, helping the cooks get orders our quickly by occasionally jumping on the cook line to help, clearing tables and helping baristas by making drinks, taking customer orders in the front of house.

Operations:

• Work with the cafe owners and cafe consultants to create operational systems and take responsibility for the continual improvement of those systems.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.
• Recording inventory Weekly
• Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs and coordinate with building operations for services as needed.
• Take responsibility for licensing and permitting concerns, in coordination with the cafe owners/consultants.

Financial Management:

• Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation in accordance with cafe policies and procedures.
• Maintain food and equipment inventories and keep inventory records.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 full year experience in a fast-paced cafe / restaurant environment
• Creative problem-solver with EXCELLENT attention to detail
• Lots of enthusiasm for the work, enjoys the Food & Beverage industry
• Excellent sense of humor
• Team first attitude with a passion for hospitality
• Must hold ServSafe Food Manager TIPS certifications (OR be willing to get certified immediately)
• Ability to move and carry objects weighing 15-20 pounds with or without assistance
• Flexibility to work a variety if shifts as necessary, including weekends
• Willingness to adapt as things change
• Able to maintain friendly and hospitable demeanor at all times.
• Excellent communication skills

Pay: $52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
