Job Description:
Rios Partners is seeking a Technical Project Leader to lead a time-bound, high-impact IT assessment for aa federal agency. This role will serve as the day-to-day engagement lead a comprehensive assessment that oversees agency performance across IT governance, cybersecurity and compliance, operations, service delivery, risk, and modernization readiness.
This role is well-suited for a leader who thrives in diagnostic and assessment-driven engagements, can translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior federal stakeholders, and is comfortable working in a federal IT environment.
As a Project Leader, you will:
- Lead projects: Serve as the overall technical and delivery lead for the project, managing scope, schedule, and quality across all domains
- Develop high-level workplans to deliver project results
- Support assessment activities, to include analyzing and providing recommendations for organizational performance across a series of domains
- Provide workstreams leads direction/guidance and identify connections/synergies between workstreams
- Ensure high-quality deliverables
- Motivate and inspire teams to deliver results
- Manage relationships: Develop and effectively manage senior client relationships
- Manage/own relationships with Senior Clients; serve as a trusted advisor to Senior Clients
- Nurture relationships with the goal of establishing platforms for future growth
- Mentor and develop the team: Consulting is an apprentice model; must be invested in growing the next cohort of Consultants.
- Provide feedback on both work products and professional development (e.g. problem framing, analysis, synthesis, communications, and relationship building)
- Provide biweekly formal feedback as well as semi-annual evaluations
- Lead team trainings on core consulting skills
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Relevant Master’s degree (e.g., MPA, MPP, MBA, Information Systems, or related discipline
- 8-10 years of professional experience, with demonstrated leadership of complex consulting, technical, or assessment engagements
- Prior experience leading IT, cybersecurity, or organizational assessments in federal or highly regulated environments
Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following: Federal IT, Federal Cybersecurity practices, NIST frameworks, OMB Policies, IT Modernization
Additional Requirements:
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- Authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely
- Willingness to work on-site in the Washington DC Metro Area
