Marketing Operations Director

Role Overview:

The Marketing Operations Director is a key cross-functional leader responsible for building scalable systems, driving medical-marketing excellence, managing national key accounts, and ensuring tight alignment across HCP, DTC, and commercial teams. This role sits at the intersection of brand, product, medical, and field execution—owning the operational backbone that enables the ( plated ) brand’s rapid growth and category-defining position.


Key Responsibilities

Advisory Boards, KOL Strategy, and Medical-Marketing Operations

  • Lead all advisory boards—planning, content creation, contracting, logistics, and post-meeting insights integration
  • Design and manage the full KOL lifecycle including identification, vetting, contracting and performance tracking working closely with the sales team.
  • Own the creation of provider speaker decks, training materials, and talk tracks aligned to scientific narrative and brand voice.
  • Create scalable systems for KOL training and readiness (e.g., speaker training, quarterly refreshers, asset libraries).

Learning & Education Systems

  • Build and oversee a best-in-class Learning Management System (LMS) for internal training (sales, medical, customer service) and external provider education (e-learning modules and recognition structure).
  • Develop content strategy, curriculum, testing frameworks, and analytics to improve skill levels and treatment consistency across the network.
  • Partner with Medical and Sales Leadership to ensure all educational materials are compliant, accurate, and current.

Conference & Events Strategy

  • Own top-line conference strategy including booth positioning, programming, satellite events, ROI measurement, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Set objectives, budget, messaging priorities, and plans for each major meeting in partnership with sales teams.

Hair Category Lead (Marketing)

  • Serve as marketing lead for the Hair category—driving product positioning, claims strategy, HCP education, etc
  • Ensure alignment with the DTC team on messaging, funnels, content, and scientific narrative for Hair.
  • Partner with Clinical and Medical to ensure data readiness and translation into field-ready education.

Calm Product Marketing

  • Serve as marketing lead for HCP-focused Calm products – driving product positioning, HCP education, and pre/post-procedure protocols.

National & Corporate Account Marketing

  • Lead the marketing strategy and operational support for national/corporate account partners.
  • Develop scalable playbooks, toolkits, and incentives that fuel adoption, reorder velocity, and program compliance.
  • Work closely with Sales Leadership to build incentive models that reward both marketing-driven pull-through and account activation.
  • Establish reporting and dashboards that track account health, performance, and opportunity areas.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Ops Excellence

  • Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and timelines across education, training, KOL, advisory, and conference programs.
  • Develop proactive insights (from CRM, LMS analytics, field feedback etc) to drive decision-making.
  • Acts as the connective tissue between scientific content, HCP education, field execution, and brand storytelling.
  • Ensures that every HCP touchpoint—training, conferences, KOL engagements, corporate accounts—feels consistent, premium, and distinctly ( plated ).



Experience Requirements

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Marketing, Business, Communications, Life Sciences, or related field).
  • 8–12 years of experience in Marketing Operations, Commercial Operations, or Medical Marketing within biologics, aesthetics, or dermatology.
  • Demonstrated success leading KOL programs, advisory boards, and medical-marketing initiatives.
  • Experience translating scientific/clinical data into field-ready marketing content, decks, and education materials.
  • Deep familiarity with HCP engagement strategy, including provider training, conference activation, and national/corporate account marketing.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership experience collaborating with Medical, Clinical, Sales, and Brand teams.
  • Track record of building operational frameworks, dashboards, and scalable processes across fast-growing organizations.
  • Highly skilled project manager with the ability to manage complex timelines, budgets, and vendor ecosystems.

Technical & Skill Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with CRM, LMS platforms, and marketing automation tools.
  • Exceptional presentation development skills (PowerPoint) and experience crafting scientific speaker decks.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to build dashboards, interpret data, and convert insights into action.


Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel during week and weekends for advisory boards, conferences, KOL trainings, and key account meetings (approx. 30-40%).
  • Experience working with field teams and HCP networks strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with compliance in aesthetic medical education (sunshine, contracting limits, fair-market value) is a major plus
