Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of Maintenance Tradespersons (10-15 individuals) in executing maintenance activities ensuring asset management processes are consistently applied.
This role is a great opportunity to lead and develop a maintenance execution team. Working and reporting to the Superintendent - Maintenance, you will
- Monitor working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees. Comply with Rio Tinto and Statutory Safety requirements
- Understand, apply, and adhere to the approved maintenance work management program and ensure compliance to planned and scheduled work orders.
- Allocate maintenance coverage for breakdowns. Resolve immediate job issues (with regards to planned maintenance activities, maintenance shutdowns, etc.)
- Manage, supervise and allocate work to a team of tradespersons in maintenance activities.
- Interface with planners and peer Supervisors to assist in planning and scheduling of work.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and solicit input from team members.
- Work schedule is 5/5/4 rotation days and nights 12 hour shifts
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in a maintenance, operations or a related field
- Experience working with or leading a team
- Knowledge of mining equipment, subsystems, lubrication properties and equipment troubleshooting
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of MS Office, Excel & SAP
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
