BASIC FUNCTION:Under the general direction, performs a variety of duties related to food preparation and food service; maintain food service facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; collects lunch money and lunch cards; performs other related duties as required.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:Participates in the preparation of a wide variety of food items, including but not limited to, meats, main dishes, baked goods and sandwiches; package and wrap food items according to established procedures and portion control.
- Follows standardized recipes.
- Sets-up serving areas and steam tables; serves food to students and staff.
- Maintains work areas in a clean and sanitary condition; cleans kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Collects money and operates computerized meal card system; bags and prepares money for bank deposits.
- Prepares a variety of routine reports related to food consumption, moneys collected and inventory.
- Assist in the preparation and service of food; chop, mix, slice, and grate, various food items.
- Operates a variety of standard kitchen equipment, including but not limited to, oven, slicer, mixer, steam table and warmer.
- Receives, checks and stocks deliveries; assures food items and supplies are stored properly.
- Assists with monthly inventory as directed.
- Coordinates with Food Service Manager regarding service needs.
- Operates kitchen and maintains records in the absence of the Food Service Manager.
- Performs related duties as directed.
