FAMILY LITERACY COORDINATOR
Part-Time | Up to 20 Hours per Week | Flexible Schedule
Rio Arriba Adult Literacy Program (RAALP) is seeking a motivated, community-minded, and creative Family Literacy Coordinator to help develop and grow our new Family Literacy Pilot Program through the New Mexico Higher Education Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with people, building community relationships, and creating meaningful educational opportunities for families.
The Family Literacy Coordinator will work alongside RAALP staff to help bring this new program to life. Because this is a pilot program, the Coordinator will have the opportunity to help shape activities and partnerships based on the needs of families in our community.
You will not be working alone. The Coordinator will work closely with RAALP's existing Adult Literacy Program, staff, volunteers, and community partners and will be able to build on relationships, resources, and connections RAALP already has in the community.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Family Literacy Coordinator will help:
- Develop and grow RAALP's new Family Literacy Pilot Program.
- Connect and collaborate with RAALP's existing Adult Literacy Program, including sharing resources and identifying opportunities to serve families.
- Build relationships with schools, families, community organizations, businesses, agencies, and other potential partners.
- Plan and coordinate family literacy events, workshops, activities, and other educational opportunities.
- Recruit and engage families in program activities and opportunities.
- Learn about family needs, interests, and strengths to help guide future programming.
- Promote family literacy opportunities throughout the community.
- Stay connected with community partners and follow up on outreach and collaboration efforts.
- Keep records of contacts, participation, activities, and program outcomes.
- Represent RAALP professionally at community meetings, events, and outreach activities.
- Perform other duties that support the development and success of the Family Literacy Program.

- Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
- Able to build positive relationships and represent RAALP professionally
- Comfortable using basic computer programs, email, and online communication tools
- Passionate about helping families and creating opportunities for learning and growth
Experience in education, literacy, community outreach, nonprofit work, family services, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
- Up to 20 hours per week
- Starting at $20/hour
- Higher compensation may be offered based on education, experience, and qualifications
- Flexible part-time schedule
- Schedule may include occasional evenings or weekends for family events and community activities
