Modern car washes are fully-automated tunnels that can wash over 200 cars/hr, and they are moving from selling single washes to all-you-can-wash subscriptions. A Day in the Life
The Hardware Logistics Manager owns the end-to-end logistics, lifecycle, and operational execution of Rinsed’s tablet hardware program. This role ensures hardware is procured, staged, shipped, deployed, supported, and replaced efficiently and at scale. The position is primarily focused on logistics, vendor coordination, inventory management, and process optimization, with light ownership of Mobile Device Management to support secure and consistent deployments.
This role partners closely with internal teams and external vendors to deliver a dependable, scalable hardware experience in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $90,000 - $105,000. This position is also eligible for incentive stock options, subject to the terms of applicable Rinsed plans. Rinsed provides an estimate of the compensation for roles that may be hired as required by state regulations. Compensation may vary based on (a) location, as we factor in specific location when benchmarking compensation for most roles, (b) individual candidate skills and qualifications, and (c) individual candidate experience. A Typical Day For This Role At Rinsed Includes
- Manage and Optimize Tablet Hardware Operations: Develop and execute operational plans for the full tablet hardware lifecycle, including procurement, inventory management, staging, shipping, deployment, repairs, and replacements, ensuring timely delivery and minimal downtime.
- Hardware Lifecycle and Inventory Ownership:Own inventory tracking, forecasting, and replacement planning to support new deployments and ongoing customer needs without overstocking or shortages.
- Mobile Device Management: Provide operational oversight of the MDM system (Esper) to support device enrollment, basic configuration, and compliance. Partner with Engineering and Support on deeper MDM strategy and technical changes as needed.
- Vendor and Partner Relationship Management: Build and manage relationships with hardware, logistics, and connectivity vendors to ensure accountability, efficiency, cost control, and reliable delivery.
- Documentation and Process Enablement: Create and maintain clear documentation for hardware logistics workflows, inventory handling, returns, and troubleshooting to support internal and external teams and enable consistent execution at scale.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Implementation, Support, Customer Success, and Operations teams to proactively identify and resolve hardware-related challenges and improve field performance.
- Customer Support: Assist with hardware-related customer escalations as needed, including tablet setup, replacements, and logistics coordination, providing clear and timely solutions with empathy and professionalism.
- Project Leadership and Continuous Improvement: Lead hardware initiatives, track operational metrics, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Team Enablement and Mentorship: Act as the subject matter expert for hardware logistics and lifecycle processes. Train team members, share best practices, and foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
You bring the following experience and expertise:
- Experience managing hardware logistics, inventory, and device lifecycle operations using inventory, asset tracking, or ERP systems.
- Familiarity with tablet hardware and basic MDM concepts.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Vendor management and operational negotiation experience.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Analytical thinker with attention to detail and a bias toward problem-solving.
- Adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
- Experience defining and tracking operational KPIs (e.g., turnaround time, failure rates, cost per deployment).
- Willing and able to travel as needed to support deployments or logistics operations.
- Working knowledge of tablet hardware, Android-based device management tools (e.g., Esper), and cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity concepts.
- Experience working with fulfillment centers, warehouses, or 3PL partners.
- Familiarity with security and compliance considerations in hardware deployments, including PCI-related environments and devices that interact with payment systems.
- Drives Product Reliability and Customer Confidence: Reliable, well-coordinated hardware logistics ensure customers receive devices that are ready to use and supported throughout their lifecycle. This role directly reduces downtime and strengthens trust in Rinsed’s product. Strong hardware performance directly translates into higher product reliability, adoption, and stronger customer trust.
