What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Engineer: Internet Service Provider position at Ringgold Telephone Company (RTC)?
This position is an in-office position located in Ringgold, GA. Hours may vary from the standard 8:00 am -5:00 pm EST depending upon the need. - 3 years of experience in ISP or service provider network engineering.
- Strong understanding of BGP routing policies, IS-IS, EVPN, and MPLS.
- Proficiency with Layer 2 technologies, including VLANs, trunks, QinQ, and private
- Experience managing fiber access networks and related transport systems.
- Working knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and IP address management.
- Familiarity with network automation frameworks and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Ability to design and maintain highly available network topologies with redundancy and

- Design, deploy, and manage ISP network infrastructure spanning multiple regions
- Configure and support BGP, EVPN (active-active), and Layer 2 private circuits.
- Manage network SLAs and performance metrics, ensuring high availability and uptime.
- Support and optimize fiber-based access networks, including GPON and XGS-PON.
- Administer and troubleshoot DHCP and DNS systems.
- Develop and deploy network automation tools and workflows (Python, Ansible, or

- Work collaboratively with NOC and field teams for service delivery and incident
