Job Summary
Ring of Hope (ROH) is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization dedicated to providing global sports mentorship programs to youth. We’re excited to connect independent contractors to our network. As a NYC corner, you'll have the chance to lead paid group classes and one-on-one sessions in boxing. We love working with Trainers who have competition backgrounds and experience with youth. Nonetheless, all are encouraged t apply.
Responsibilities
- Program Delivery: Lead martial art sessions and lectures for grade 1–12 students using ROH’s structure, curriculum, and safety standards. Prep the space, equipment, and materials before each class.
- Reporting & Communication: Submit attendance, incidents, and inventory reports.
- Participant Development: Spot standout students, flag challenges, and reinforce ROH’s CREDIT values and expectations.
- Training & Skill Growth: Participate in ongoing ROH training and apply our coaching methods and class formats consistently.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work alongside other trainers, model strong coaching practices, and support shadowing or co-teaching moments.
- Engagement: Connect with students before and after class to build rapport.
- Representation & Promotion: Represent ROH professionally and share upcoming programs, events, and opportunities with participants.
- Safety & Approvals: Follow all safety protocols and get leadership clearance for advanced drills, competition prep, or off-site activities.
- Systems & Tools: Use ROH scheduling, booking, and reporting platforms accurately. Maintain clean records and follow all workflow steps.
Requirements
- Strong martial arts background; competitive experience is a plus.
- Completion of all required trainings and certifications.
- Experience working with youth.
- Experience instructing large group classes.
- Clear communication, professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
- Flexible weekday availability between 6 AM–5 PM with reliable transportation.
- Able to pass background checks.
Pay: $25.00 - $75.00 per hour
