Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our dynamic EHS team. This critical role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that ensure compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, working collaboratively across all levels of the organization to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and promote safe work practices throughout our manufacturing operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Safety Program Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures that align with OSHA standards and industry best practices
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of manufacturing facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of all safety programs, training records, incident reports, and compliance activities
- Monitor and analyze safety metrics, trends, and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate and lead safety committee meetings, promoting employee engagement and participation in safety initiatives
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations including 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry Standards) and applicable manufacturing-specific requirements
- Maintain compliance with EPA regulations regarding hazardous materials management
• Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering/management or related field preferred or work equivalent work experience
