Position Summary
This Electrical & Low Voltage Construction Inspector role supports a major aviation capital improvement program, with a focus on inspecting electrical infrastructure and IT/low-voltage systems across active construction projects. The position is centered on ensuring installation quality, code compliance, and system functionality across a wide range of electrical scopes—from power distribution to security and communication systems.
This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical field knowledge who can confidently interpret plans, inspect installations in real time, and work closely with contractors and project teams in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform inspections across electrical and low-voltage systems including power distribution, lighting, and communication infrastructure
• Verify installations align with approved plans, specifications, and applicable electrical codes and standards
• Inspect electrical rough-in and finish work including conduits, panels, grounding systems, and related components
• Review and monitor installation of low-voltage/IT systems such as access control, security cameras, PA systems, and fire/life safety systems
• Support inspections of specialized systems including high-voltage equipment, airfield lighting (if applicable), and emergency systems
• Review construction documents including drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders to validate field compliance
• Document daily inspection activities with clear, detailed reporting of progress, issues, and corrective actions
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure quality execution
• Track field changes, quantities, and support documentation related to progress and time-and-material work

Qualifications
• 3 years of electrical and/or low-voltage construction inspection experience
• Experience inspecting electrical systems within building construction and/or public works environments
• Knowledge of electrical installation methods, materials, and code requirements
• Familiarity with low-voltage/IT systems including security, communications, and fire/life safety systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify deficiencies and ensure compliance
• Comfortable working in active construction environments with multiple stakeholders
• Experience inspecting electrical systems within building construction and/or public works environments
• Knowledge of electrical installation methods, materials, and code requirements
• Familiarity with low-voltage/IT systems including security, communications, and fire/life safety systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

Certifications & Technical Skills
• Cal OSHA 30 certification required
• NFPA 70E certification (within last 3 years) required
• ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector certification required
• NFPA 13 familiarity/training preferred
• Fall protection training required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience reviewing digital construction documents (Bluebeam or similar tools preferred)
• NFPA 70E certification (within last 3 years) required
