The Education Liaison-Inpatient provides support for the educational needs of pediatric patients including but not limited to, collaborative educational planning with the local school system during hospitalization, meeting post-discharge needs, assisting with Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs), and implementing the hospital-based school program. Evaluates and reports student's progress to parents and home school and provides information on children's developmental understanding of illness and treatment or support necessary to prepare child's classmates for his/her return to school. Maintains files and student record keeping system and evaluates effectiveness of hospital school program in meeting educational needs of pediatric patients of school age. Keeps up-to-date with changes in elementary/secondary education curriculum and teaching styles. Assists Child Life with special events and provides other related services as designated.
- Requires valid Indiana State Teacher's License in Elementary Education.
- We will consider educators who are also licensed in secondary education as well.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Requires valid Indiana State Teacher's license in Elementary Education.
- Requires 3-5 years of relevant teaching experience; experience in a general education classrooms or special education classroom preferred.
