Accounting Specialist Overview
Riley Decker is looking to hire a highly motivated and organized Accounting Specialist within a fast-paced environment in our corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. This is a great opportunity to apply and grow your critical thinking, adaptability skills, and take on new challenges. The Accounting Specialist is a critical role within Riley Decker, responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with close processes, and more to deliver high quality service for both clients and internal staff for all our brands. This position is Monday through Friday, in-person position in our corporate office.
Responsibilities of an Accounting Specialist
- Accounts Payable Processing
- Invoice verifications and obtaining allocation approvals
- Managing reoccurring vendor online billing
- Reviewing monthly expense reporting
- Financial Reporting & Analysis – Preparing standard journal entries for imports into accounting systems, including allocations and accruals across multiple periods, cost centers, and companies.
- Weekly and monthly account reconciliations
- Assisting with monthly close processes related to multiple accounts and companies.
- Timeliness – Meeting daily, weekly and monthly processing and reporting deadlines, including responding to ad-hoc information requests and assisting with audits.
- Team Focus – Assisting the Senior Accounting Analyst and CFO as needed.
- Support the accounting team as needed, including review of expense reporting, invoice allocations, data feeds, and other items.

- Organization – Keeping track of documents and data accurately to ensure smooth financial operations, including carefully checking numbers and documents to catch any errors and ensure accuracy in financial records
- Confidentiality – Keeping sensitive financial information secure and being honest and trustworthy in work.
Requirements of an Accounting Specialist
- Experience – Minimum of Associates in Accounting and/ or 2 years of related experience
- Knowledge Base – Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Technology – Proficiency in accounting software and intermediate MS Excel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop accounting information system is a plus
- Knowledge of SAP Concur invoice management system (or other automated AP system) is a plus
- Screenings – Must complete a background check and drug screen.
