We are seeking a highly-motivated, mechanically inclined Production Operator with a growth mindset who enjoys a dynamic, hands on, field-based work environment. You will be responsible for working in the field with other teams to perform repairs, perform preventative maintenance on existing equipment.
Location: Gillette, WY (must reside within 50 miles)
Pay: $28-32/ hour

Position Description
We are seeking a highly-motivated, mechanically inclined Production Operator with a growth mindset who enjoys a dynamic, hands on, field-based work environment. You will be responsible for working in the field with other teams to perform repairs, perform preventative maintenance on existing equipment.
- The role of the field operator is to monitor, operate and maintain the water gathering pipeline systems, disposals and booster stations, throughout the field of operation.
- Working with the many other groups to maintain a field that is responsible for bringing Oil/Water/Gas to the surface.
- Maintenance includes but is not limited to changing filters, cleaning meters, strainers and gauges, to operation of all sorts of valves, pressure relief valves, back pressure valves and regulators, testing equipment and leak testing of the many sections of pipelines and skimming tanks on tank batteries up to 25 feet.
- The field operator will be responsible for the operation of pumps, motors, actuated valves, flow meters, pressure transmitters, chemical pumps, plunger and centrifugal h-pumps and understanding when these need to be serviced.
- The operator works with and coordinates trucking companies to maintain water hauling for lease water hauling, flowback, workover and service work.
- Works directly with a Control room operator which is watching the field through automation (SCADA) and cameras to assist the field operators in their daily activities and address any alarms or help in an emergency.
- Every operator will be trained initially on the job to ensure they understand the role before operating alone.
- Communication, Safety and Environmental awareness is a must.
- Use of Microsoft word, Excel and basic computer and math skills
- Ability to interpret regulations, procedures and policies related to records, maintenance and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications
- Ability to check the status of well sites, transfer pumps, booster stations, and disposals that have different set ups and layouts.
- Operate, maintain, service equipment while keeping good housekeeping and safety in mind
- Operation of automatic equipment on oil well sites and in facility processes
- The desire to learn cygnet and iVolume, DENCF, various computer programs for record keeping and data entry
- Understanding different pressures and flow rates of fluids in a pipeline system and how they will affect the system’s operations.
- Knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic tools to inspect, install, test, maintain and repair equipment.
- Use and safety of lock out/tag out, respirators, and safety harnesses, H2S monitoring systems
- The use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to work shift work and weekends or on-call.
