Job Description

The Senior Production Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of oil and gas production facilities and associated equipment. This position serves as a technical leader in the field, providing expertise in well operations, artificial lift systems, gas compression, separation processes, pipeline operations, and facility optimization.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive operations experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently monitor production performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and support teams to maximize production and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

Production Operations

  • Operate and monitor oil and gas production wells and associated surface facilities.
  • Manage and optimize gas lift systems, Electric Submersible Pumps (ESPs), and artificial lift equipment.
  • Operate and monitor three-phase separation equipment, gas compression systems, and pipeline facilities.
  • Perform routine inspections, readings, and operational rounds to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor production rates, pressures, temperatures, and equipment performance to maximize production output.

Equipment Monitoring & Optimization

  • Proactively identify production issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Troubleshoot operational problems involving wells, compressors, pumps, valves, and rotating equipment.
  • Track and analyze compression and production data to support operational decision-making.
  • Conduct fluid level surveys using echometer equipment and interpret results.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to optimize well and facility performance.

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Prepare equipment and systems for maintenance activities.
  • Issue and manage work permits in accordance with company safety procedures.
  • Perform minor maintenance on valves, pumps, rotating equipment, and production systems.
  • Initiate work requests and provide detailed operational feedback to maintenance teams.
  • Assist craft personnel and other operators during maintenance and operational activities.

Chemical & Process Management

  • Monitor and adjust chemical injection programs to optimize production and equipment reliability.
  • Coordinate with support teams on corrosion, paraffin, soap injection, and other chemical treatment programs.
  • Support process optimization initiatives through operational monitoring and data collection.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with work permit systems and safe work practices.
  • Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and operational reviews.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a technical resource for operators and field personnel.
  • Provide guidance and support in troubleshooting complex operational issues.
  • Assist in developing and updating operating procedures and best practices.
  • Coordinate activities with engineering, maintenance, and support groups to achieve production objectives.

Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 7 years of oil and gas production operations experience.
  • Extensive experience operating production facilities and associated equipment.
  • Proven experience with artificial lift systems, including Gas Lift and ESP operations.

Job Details

Pay: $43/per hr

Location: Kenedy, TX

Schedule: 10 Days On/4 Days Off (8Hr Days) 10& 4 days starting then possible 7x7 night once trained

Pay: $43.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
