Job Description:
The Pipeline & Utility Line Locator is responsible for ONE-CALL response, underground line locating, and mapping of underground utilities to ensure compliance with ONE-CALL Law. This role leads safety efforts to ensure all excavation work in and around pipelines is performed according to established procedures to protect the health and well-being of personnel involved in the work. The position conducts surveys for new pipeline and power line installations and ensures proper documentation and record keeping.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ONE-CALL response, documentation, and record keeping to ensure compliance with ONE-CALL Law
- Perform line locating as per ONE-CALL requests and in accordance with line-finding procedures
- Conduct surveys for new pipeline and power line installations
- Lead the safety effort to ensure all excavation work in and around pipelines is performed as per established procedures to protect the health and well-being of personnel involved in the work
- Ensure pipeline maps are maintained and are readily available
- Ensure the implementation of safety and environmental procedures and compliance with regulations and policies
- Install/stake out and map locations using GPS systems
- Ensure line locators (ONE-CALL) are dispatched to sweep, mark, and map underground utilities prior to excavation
- Act as an informal resource for others with less experience
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
- Experienced level, typically 5-7 years of experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in underground line locating and mapping of underground utilities
- Strong understanding of discipline
- Able to apply knowledge and experience to complex problems and develop recommendations
- Ability to make decisions within broad parameters
- Experience with GPS systems for mapping and location staking
- Understanding of safety and environmental procedures and regulations
- Knowledge of ONE-CALL Law and compliance requirements
Role Details:
Location: Dickinson, ND
Schedule: 5 Days On/2 Days Off (10Hr Days)
Pay: $35.00/ Hr
