Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Measurement Technician to support field operations through the maintenance, calibration, and inspection of measurement equipment used in oil and gas production. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate measurement of production volumes and compliance with applicable standards, procedures, and contractual obligations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with measurement systems and the ability to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support scheduling of required inspections and calibrations.
Responsibilities
- Support field operations by ensuring measurement activities meet contractual and regulatory requirements
- Schedule and perform meter testing, calibration verification, and equipment inspections
- Maintain and repair measurement stations and associated equipment
- Inspect and service primary and secondary measurement elements
- Perform natural gas sampling and ensure proper documentation of results
- Maintain and troubleshoot measurement equipment, including:
- Electronic flow meters (EFMs)
- Meter tubes and associated components
- Composite samplers
- Pressure transmitters and auxiliary instrumentation
- Positive displacement (PD) meters and Coriolis meters
- Communication systems (e.g., radio equipment)
- Ensure measurement accuracy and data integrity through regular verification and maintenance
- Track and document maintenance schedules, test results, and calibration activities
- Identify and resolve routine operational and equipment issues
- Support continuous improvement of measurement processes and procedures
- High school diploma or GED required (technical training preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in oil and gas measurement or related field
- Working knowledge of oil and gas measurement systems, equipment, and terminology
- Experience with meter calibration, testing, and inspection procedures
- Basic understanding of flow measurement principles and instrumentation
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot field equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in the field
- Ability to manage schedules and complete tasks independently
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and reporting
- Basic computer skills for documentation and system updates
- Good communication skills and ability to work with field teams
