Main Functions
You will identify and consult with surface owners concerning placement of drill site locations, ingress, egress, roads, pits, ROW’s, water purchase agreements, and settlement of various damages associated therewith. Develop, negotiate, and execute new commercial agreements (e.g., leases and right-of ways), obtaining all functional alignment, as required. Ownership of and responsibility to provide the Landman with status and progress including, but not limited to, any of the below actions:
Location: Local to Carlsbad, NM
Schedule: M-F, 40 hours per week

You will identify and consult with surface owners concerning placement of drill site locations, ingress, egress, roads, pits, ROW’s, water purchase agreements, and settlement of various damages associated therewith. Develop, negotiate, and execute new commercial agreements (e.g., leases and right-of ways), obtaining all functional alignment, as required. Ownership of and responsibility to provide the Landman with status and progress including, but not limited to, any of the below actions:
- Negotiate and draft Surface and Subsurface Use Agreements/ROW/TB Agreements, Water Purchase and Transport Agreements, letter agreements, etc.
- Contact surface owners in advance of company activities to establish appropriate rapport and make any needed arrangements for such activity.
- Coordinate survey schedule and accompany survey and construction team to the field to ensure multi-well pads are staked properly.
- Excellent communication with New Mexico surface owners; requiring knowledge relating to all facets of oil and gas development and familiarity of agricultural, ranching, farming, and other rural related industries and occupations.
- Visit oil and saltwater spills and coordinate cleanup efforts with Landowners; work with Landman to document all reportable spills.
- Daily interface with Environmental team on progress of remediation efforts and ongoing Landowner requirements.
- Promote, practice, comply, and adhere to all company safety guidelines and requirements and require compliance of company safety guidelines and requirements by vendors and contractors. Attend all required safety training as provided and required by company.
- Full understanding of BLM ROWs, SF-299 Submissions, and Surface Disturbance requirements as set out by BLM and NMSLO
- Ability to review, submit, and finalize Eddy and Lea County Road Crossing permits
- Ability to review, submit, and finalize NMDOT pipeline, road, and electrical crossings
