The Water Transfer Consultant is a field-based role responsible for overseeing day-to-day water transfer operations supporting hydraulic fracturing and drilling activities. This position provides on-site operational leadership, contractor oversight, and execution support for both conventional and automated water transfer systems. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, system reliability, and real-time problem-solving in a demanding operating environment.
This position operates on a rotational schedule with extended shifts and requires availability for on-call response to operational issues.

Responsibilities
- Supervise the setup, operation, monitoring, and teardown of water transfer systems, including layflat and rigid pipeline systems
- Oversee pigging operations, pressure testing, line repairs, and troubleshooting of water transfer systems
- Ensure consistent and reliable water delivery aligned with drilling and completion schedules and volume requirements
- Provide on-site leadership for water transfer crews and third-party contractors
- Maintain daily communication with field leadership regarding operational status, plans, and issues
- Enforce contractor expectations, site rules, and established safety standards
- Support remote and automated water transfer operations in coordination with centralized monitoring teams
- Assist with pump calibration, leak detection systems, and overall system optimization
- Respond to real-time alarms and provide field feedback to improve system performance
- Conduct routine inspections of pumps, hoses, manifolds, valves, pipelines, and associated equipment
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs in accordance with established standards and procedures
- Monitor, verify, and report flow rates and total water volumes transferred
- Submit accurate daily reports documenting operations, volumes, labor, equipment usage, and costs
- Track and verify labor and equipment costs using provided reporting applications
- Lead tailgate meetings and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Enforce PPE requirements, stop-work authority, and hazard mitigation practices
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and operating procedures
- Immediately report and assist in the response to spills, leaks, or environmental incidents
- Document safety observations, corrective actions, and compliance activities in designated systems
- Demonstrated experience in frac water transfer operations, including layflat systems, pumps, and pigging
- Strong understanding of pressure systems, flow management, and leak detection
- Experience supervising field crews and third-party contractors
- Proven safety leadership and field-based problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a full-time, field-based role
- Willingness to work a rotational schedule with 12-hour shifts and on-call availability
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Mechanical aptitude with water transfer equipment and associated infrastructure
- Ability to operate mobile devices and reporting applications for daily operational tracking
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company-provided vehicle
- Physically capable of working in field conditions and around heavy equipment
