Job Description

The Production Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and optimizing oil and gas production operations through centralized control systems. This role supports the safe and efficient operation of wells, pipelines, processing equipment, and production facilities by applying established operating procedures, responding to alarms, coordinating field activities, and ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have experience in oil and gas production operations, control room environments, SCADA systems, production surveillance, and operational troubleshooting. This position requires strong communication skills, sound operational judgment, and the ability to coordinate effectively with field personnel, maintenance teams, and operations leadership.

Responsibilities

Production Monitoring & Operations

• Monitor and control wells, pipelines, production facilities, and associated equipment through control room systems.
• Conduct continuous surveillance of operational parameters to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.
• Identify production variances and implement corrective actions to optimize system performance.
• Monitor equipment performance and respond appropriately to alarms, abnormal conditions, and operational upsets.
• Ensure production operations comply with established operating procedures and daily operational plans.
• Support startup, shutdown, and operational transition activities as required.
  
  

Equipment & Process Management

• Monitor the condition and performance of wells and production equipment.
• Coordinate corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities with field and maintenance teams.
• Verify equipment readiness and operational status before intervention or maintenance activities.
• Assist with troubleshooting production issues and provide detailed well diagnostics prior to intervention activities.
• Support ongoing wellwork and production optimization efforts.
  
  

Safety & Emergency Response

• Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, health, and security requirements.
• Participate actively in toolbox meetings, safety discussions, and operational reviews.
• Report alarms, equipment failures, emergency shutdown system impairments, and operational risks.
• Participate in emergency response activities and incident reporting processes.
• Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to operational procedures.
  
  

Communication & Reporting

• Maintain accurate operational logs and shift reports.
• Provide detailed and effective shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations.
• Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and operational updates to supervisors and field personnel.
• Ensure operational events, abnormalities, and deviations are properly documented and escalated when necessary.
• Coordinate effectively with field operations, maintenance personnel, and operations leadership.
  
  

Sampling & Data Collection

• Collect product samples and support laboratory testing activities.
• Monitor production rates, equipment performance, and process conditions.
• Track and report operational performance metrics and production data.
• Ensure data integrity within operational monitoring systems.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience as a Field Operator, Production Operator, Control Room Operator, Operations Technician, or similar oil and gas operations role.
• Experience working within oil and gas production, pipeline, processing, or facility operations environments.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  
  

Technical Skills

• Oil & Gas Production Control Room experience required.
• Experience utilizing SCADA, HMI, DCS, or other production monitoring systems.
• Strong understanding of production operations, well surveillance, and facility monitoring.
• Knowledge of pipeline operations and production equipment.
• Familiarity with operational troubleshooting and production optimization techniques.
• Understanding of emergency response procedures and operational risk management.
• Knowledge of maintenance coordination and work management processes.

Pay: $60.55/per hour
