The Control Room / Water Systems Operator is responsible for remotely monitoring and managing water treatment, saltwater disposal, and distribution systems using SCADA and related technologies. This role ensures efficient, safe, and compliant system operations by tracking performance metrics, responding to alarms, and coordinating with field personnel.

Responsibilities
- Monitor water treatment plants, saltwater disposal systems, and distribution networks using SCADA systems.
- Track system performance, including flow rates, pressure levels, and reservoir volumes.
- Operate and adjust pumps, valves, and system inputs remotely to maintain optimal performance.
- Respond to system alarms and initiate corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Communicate with field personnel to coordinate maintenance, repairs, and emergency response activities.
- Dispatch technicians and field crews for on-site troubleshooting when remote resolution is not possible.
- Record operational data, incidents, and maintenance activities in logs and reports.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly performance and operational reports.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for water quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Follow established emergency procedures during system failures or contamination events.
- Participate in training, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of water treatment processes and distribution systems.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems for remote monitoring and control.
- Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge related to pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in SCADA and data logging systems.
- Ability to interpret system alarms and troubleshoot remotely.
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to analyze operational data and identify trends or anomalies.
- Strong decision-making skills, especially during system failures or emergency situations.
- Clear verbal and written communication for coordination with field personnel.
- Ability to accurately document incidents and operational updates.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer-savvy candidates strongly preferred.
