SOF J3 Operations Exercise Support Planner

Rigid Tactical is seeking a high-caliber Senior Battle Staff Role Player and Mentor to provide elite-level operational replication and professional development for the TSOC/SOF community. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who can seamlessly transition from managing complex battlefield variables in a J3 capacity to providing high-level mentorship to the next generation of SOF leaders. In this role, you will be the operational backbone of the Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG), ensuring that HHQ and Adjacent HQ replication is indistinguishable from real-world operations. Beyond the technical execution of the exercise, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading critical discussions on combat ethics and mission history to ensure the training audience is prepared for the moral and tactical complexities of the modern battlefield.

Qualifications/ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience (within the last 5 years) supporting fleet operations, with a strong preference for the CENTCOM or INDOPACOM Areas of Responsibility.
• 10-15 years in the Strike, FIRES, or SOF planning, with a deep understanding of the joint targeting and fires process.
• Bachelors degree in National Security, Leadership, or International Relations (preferred) .(PMP)
• Previous NSW experience within the last three years is considered essential for this role.
• Deep familiarity with SOF operational employment, Concept of Operations (CONOP) development, and the Ops/Intel fusion process.
• Advanced working knowledge of the F3EAD (Find, Fix, Finish, Exploit, Analyze, Disseminate) targeting cycle.
  
  

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide high-fidelity HHQ and Adjacent HQ Battle Staff replication, ensuring the training audience interacts with a realistic and responsive higher command element.
• Support the full mission profile (FMP) and command post exercises (CPX) to integrate training objectives for key stakeholders,
• Develop and refine the baseline ground truth scenario documents, scenario target networks, and intelligence products.
• Facilitate informal mentorship, professional training, and formal feedback sessions.
• Participate in round-table discussions with the training audience to refine operational art and leadership.
• Support HHQ/Adjacent HQ Battle Staff replication.
• Lead discussions and panels in Combat Ethics and the Law of Armed Conflict.
• SOF Mission Case Studies and historical analysis.
• Operational employment and integrated SOF planning
• Provide informal mentorship, feedback sessions, and round-table discussions with the training audience.
• Deliver academic training in specialized areas such as Targeting, Collections, and All-Source Intelligence Analysis.
