Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 10 hour shifts, with overtime opportunities available on Fridays
Compensation: $32 to $43/hour depending on experience

Position Summary
Our client is seeking experienced Manual Machinists to support the repair and manufacturing of custom gearbox and industrial components. This is a hands on machining role focused on high mix, low volume production and custom one off parts, not repetitive CNC production work.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating manual machine tools, reading blueprints, maintaining tight tolerances, and producing precision components for industrial repair applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, VTLs, milling machines, grinders, shapers, and related machining equipment
- Manufacture custom gears, shafts, and replacement components for gearbox rebuilds and industrial equipment repairs
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and related measuring instruments
- Conduct reverse engineering on worn or damaged components to replicate original OEM specifications
- Maintain close tolerances and high quality workmanship throughout machining processes
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments as needed
- Support equipment maintenance, shop organization, and safe operating practices
- Collaborate with gearbox technicians and operations personnel to meet production schedules and repair timelines
Qualifications
- Experience operating manual machine tools in a job shop or industrial environment
- Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills
- Experience machining custom or low volume parts preferred
- This is not a CNC button pusher role, candidates must have hands on manual machining experience
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting ability
- High attention to detail and commitment to precision workmanship
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Compensation & Benefits
- $32 to $43/hour depending on experience and manual machining background
- Non-exempt role with overtime opportunities available, typically on Fridays

- 2 weeks PTO to start with tenure based increases
- 4 day workweek schedule, Monday through Thursday
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical training or machining certification preferred
- Experience in high mix, low volume machining environments strongly preferred
- Prior experience supporting gearbox repair, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing is a plus
