Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision and care for children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children.
• Plan and implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, learning, and fun.
• Ensure safety by adhering to childhood development best practices, behavior management techniques, and mandated reporting laws when necessary.
• Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, bathing, and nap times for infants and toddlers.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, activities, and any concerns that arise.
• Support children with disabilities or special needs by adapting activities to meet individual requirements and fostering an inclusive environment.
• Maintain a clean, organized environment that complies with health and safety standards including first aid and CPR protocols.

Skills

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs.
• Proven ability to care for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children through classroom experience or babysitting.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate activities that stimulate learning and socialization.
• Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
• Previous experience in daycare settings, nannying, or youth programs teaching young children is highly desirable.
