Continuing Training Opportunities
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings, including residential homes, day programs, and community settings.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household chores.
- Implement individualized support plans and behavior management strategies to promote skill development and independence.
- Foster positive relationships with individuals, families, and caregivers to ensure personalized and high-quality care.
- Encourage and facilitate community integration and participation in social, recreational, and vocational activities.
- Document individual progress, incidents, and significant events accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including case managers, therapists, and healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in human services or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a similar caregiving role preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and compassion when working with individuals with diverse needs and abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and respond calmly and effectively in challenging situations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; ability to transport individuals in personal or company vehicle may be necessary.
