Lead Host

Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter's 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel's 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building's legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan - a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.

You're the first face guests see and the quiet force that keeps service flowing. At Café Riggs, our grand American brasserie beneath soaring marble columns, the Lead Host shapes the entire dining experience from the moment someone walks through the door.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome every guest and set the tone for their visit
• Manage reservations and walk-ins to maximise table turns without sacrificing hospitality
• Handle special requests and resolve concerns swiftly and graciously
  

• Train, mentor, and inspire the host team to deliver consistent, elevated service
• Lead pre-shift briefings covering reservations, VIP guests, and service priorities
• Act as the bridge between the dining room, hotel front desk, and culinary team
  
  

• Oversee seating flow and table assignments across all meal periods
• Maintain the reservation system with guest notes, preferences, and feedback
• Build and manage the host schedule to cover all service periods
• Own menu printing, paper inventory, and daily reporting
  
  

Hourly wage : $22 - 24
