This role involves delivering goods across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in truck driving, route management, and handling different types of equipment. A strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service is essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Operate commercial trucks with different speed manual transmissions and other specialized vehicles such as end dump trailers, tankers, and coil tubing trucks.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment when necessary.
- Safely drive across assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Manage delivery schedules to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs at various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for each trip.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes.
- Follow all safety protocols related to transporting hazardous or specialized freight.
Skills
- Valid CDL with necessary endorsements for different vehicle types.
- Proven experience in truck driving, including freight delivery, route driving, and handling various cargo types.
- Ability to operate specialized equipment when required for loading/unloading freight.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures related to commercial driving and freight handling.
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers, clients, and team members.
- Physical ability to load/unload cargo and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
