Responsibilities
- Safely operate trailers on OTR routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while complying with route-specific requirements.
- Secure loads properly for transportation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or safety concerns during transit.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial truck driving.
- Minimum 2 years CDL experience
- Clean driving record with proven safety history
- Minimum 25 years of age
- Pass DOT medical physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and safety protocols for goods transportation.
- Delivery driver experience involving freight movement across long distances with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
