Shipshewana Furniture Company seeks a seasonal furniture sales assistant and cashier to join our Traditions by Shipshewana Furniture team. This person must be a team player and enjoy assisting customers. A warm and welcoming personality is expected! The job will include assisting customers in purchasing goods, including outdoor & indoor furniture, providing excellent customer care, and performing other responsibilities as assigned.
The furniture sales assistant and cashier will work five days a week, including Saturdays, into the fall. Our stores are closed on Sundays.
Our furniture sales assistant and cashier must be outgoing and willing to start conversations with anyone who visits our store. Experience in sales and customer support is recommended but not required. The pay is up to $15.00 per hour.
Furniture Sales Assistant and Cashier Requirements:
- Help customers select and purchase furniture.
- An appreciation and understanding of colors, patterns, and designs.
- A willingness to learn and adapt is required.
- Attentive to detail, curious, confident, empathic, a good listener, and self-motivated.
- Professional demeanor and attire suitable for a conservative community & high-end furniture store.
- Ability and desire to learn and retain product knowledge.
- Ability to put guests at ease.
- Competence with computer systems and basic software.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
