What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bussers/Food Runners position at Ridgway Bar and Grill?
Job Summary: Ridgway Bar & Grill is seeking full-time and part-time bussers, food runners, and barbacks for the season. In this position, you will move between roles depending on the needs of the shift.
We are open for service every day for lunch and dinner, brunch on weekends, all holidays, and host many private events. With our dining room, inside bar service, and outside courtyard bar, we experience high volume during the season. There is a lot of ground to cover and shift duties will vary. These positions are paid hourly plus tips and may be full-time or part-time depending on need and availability.
Busser Responsibilities:
- Clear and reset tables promptly after guests leave.
- Assist servers in delivering food and beverages to tables as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including sweeping floors and spill cleanup during service.
- Fill waters as guests arrive and refill as needed
- Provide additional items to guests as requested, ie. high chairs, cushions
- Help stock and organize service stations and supply areas.
Food Runner Responsibilities:
- Deliver food from the kitchen to the appropriate stations in a timely manner.
- Ensure orders are safely and carefully delivered.
- Communicate with service staff to ensure timely delivery of food to guests.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to confirm orders and resolve any issues.
- Assist with clearing plates and utensils from tables after guests have finished their meals.
- Help maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
Barback Responsibilities:
- Assist bartenders by restocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness at the bar.
- Keep the bar area organized and stocked with ice, glassware, garnishes, and other necessary items.
- Help with cleaning glassware and utensils and maintain an orderly work environment.
- Roll silverware
- Support bartenders during busy service periods by providing prompt assistance.
Requirements:
- Some English language skills are required, must be able to communicate with front of house and guests.
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Kind, helpful, and a team player.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is a plus, but not required.
