Duties
- Operate industrial laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and pressing machines to process large volumes of linens and garments efficiently.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper sorting, folding, and packaging according to established standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area by performing regular cleaning tasks and adhering to safety standards in production environments.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving bulky items or loads, following manual handling procedures to prevent injury.
- Conduct quality checks on finished items to ensure they meet hygiene and appearance standards before distribution.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all laundry operations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support the materials handling process by organizing supplies, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely processing of laundry loads.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or laundry operations within a hospitality or industrial setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laundry processes including washing, drying, dry cleaning, and pressing techniques.
- Ability to handle heavy loads safely through manual handling practices and use of appropriate equipment.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments to ensure a secure workspace for all team members.
- Excellent attention to detail for quality control and maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Good physical stamina for standing long hours, lifting heavy items, and performing repetitive tasks efficiently.
- Experience working with industrial dryers and dry cleaning machines is a plus; hotel experience is highly desirable.
