What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Specialist position at RIDGEVIEW MEDICAL CENTER?
Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for operational support for all owned and leased buildings, grounds and equipment. Assists in providing oversight of organizational buildings, construction projects and equipment as assigned/directed to support Ridgeview Support Services Division.
Job Functions
1. Coordinates assigned areas of responsibility to ensure efficient and effective operations of assigned resources.
2. Assists in development of preventive and predictive maintenance programs for assigned assets and systems; continuously improves maintenance practices, processes and documentation.
3. Shares knowledge and best practices with other support staff related to assigned assets and systems.
4. Shares industry and technology trends with internal stakeholders to support future asset design strategies.
5. Works closely with Facilities Managers and Supervisors to support and optimize the lifecycle performance of various assets.
6. Interacts with and supports internal IT staff on various infrastructure needs.
7. Recommends ongoing opportunities for improvement for the management of buildings and equipment. Participates in the Departmental budget process for both Capital and Operational expenses.
8. Coordinates assigned areas of responsibility for construction and minor renovation and relocation projects as directed.
9. In conjunction with director and managers, proactively identifies, recommends, and acts upon improvement projects and opportunities through observation, data analysis, engagement with partners, and review of external impact factors and best practices.
10. Demonstrates best practices and continuous improvement by following Lean principles.
11. Demonstrates the ability to write and follow procedures and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory standards.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Work Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities or Construction Management, HVAC, or Engineering
- Must be at least 21 years old to meet Ridgeview’s insurability requirements
- 1 years of Facilities Maintenance/Management experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to adjust to new and changing priorities
- Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team
- Professional presence and effective interpersonal skills
- General understanding of buildings, critical systems, and other related systems
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work streams
- Ability to read and interpret equipment and building blueprints, specifications and schematics
- Ability to support and implement changes through leadership, communication, team building, and conflict resolution skills
- Global approach to problem solving by seeking customer feedback through system wide thinking
- Ability to prioritize a variety of work, work volumes and multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence to complete job functions as mentioned above
License/Certifications
- Valid MN driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Facility Maintenance/Management; Healthcare preferred
Compensation
Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
