As a Long-term Care Nurse, your main responsibilities include monitoring patients' health, giving medications, helping with daily activities, and offering emotional support to both patients and their families. You’ll also need to record patient progress, update care plans, and make sure all healthcare rules and facility policies are followed. This role calls for strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and deep empathy. Ideal candidates will have backgrounds in geriatric care, rehabilitation, or managing chronic illnesses, and should feel comfortable in a busy, collaborative work setting.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and be licensed as an R.N. in Iowa.
- Nursing experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.
- Supervisory class is required in the State of Iowa for nursing home facilities.
