Job Description
We’re looking for compassionate RN First Assists who are dedicated to providing thoughtful, respectful care to individuals and their families. In this role, you’ll function interdependently with the surgeon during surgical procedures, emphasizing intraoperative care and perioperative and postoperative responsibilities. This position is in conjunction with the general Surgery Department RN role and offers a unique opportunity to enhance surgical care outcomes. We value teamwork, surgical precision, and clinical expertise in delivering patient-centered care.
Patient Care & Treatment
Offer holistic and patient-centered nursing care, focusing on the unique needs of surgical patients and their families. This includes providing intraoperative assistance, conducting perioperative assessments, and evaluating postoperative outcomes. Prioritize safety, empathy, and collaboration in every aspect of care.
Collaborative Teamwork
This role involves working closely with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient procedures while contributing to a supportive and collaborative work environment. Your ability to function harmoniously and effectively as a team member is key.
Qualifications
Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of California
Completed course in RN First Assisting (AORN Core Curriculum-based)
Current CNOR certification (or obtained within one year and maintained)
At least two years of experience as both scrub and circulator
Strong knowledge of asepsis, infection control, surgical anatomy, and procedures
Demonstrated team collaboration skills
PALS certification required within one year and maintained
BLS and ACLS certifications required and maintained
Ability to perform under pressure and in emergency situations
Demonstrated competence in RNFA-specific functions
