Position Overview
Rider University invites applications for the Grants Manager. Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, this individual will oversee the full lifecycle of externally funded grants, serving as the primary liaison among faculty, academic departments, Finance, and University Advancement. This position identifies funding opportunities, coordinates proposal development, ensures compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements, and supports post-award financial and administrative management. The Grants Manager ensures that grant-funded projects advance the University’s mission while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in research administration, grant management, sponsored programs, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sponsor regulations, budgeting principles, and pre and post award processes.
- Proficiency with enterprise systems (Banner preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.
- Master’s degree or Certified Research Administrator (CRA) credential preferred.
- Experience in higher education or a research-intensive administrative environment.
- Experience coordinating federal grant submissions (NIH, NSF, DOE, NEH, DOJ, etc.).
- Familiarity with Uniform Guidance and sponsor systems such as Research.gov, Grants.gov, and ASSIST.
