A carpenter not a helper please. Because it takes years to become a carpenter. We are looking for a Carpenter that lives on the west bank and has his own tools. You must have your own vehicle because no one will be picking you up. Transportation/ truck to haul lumber and materials would be great. You must be self-sufficient with your own tools.

Rick's Carpentry, LLC since 1982 is a residential repair and remodeling construction company in Belle Chasse, LA.
Work will be on the west bank and east bank. We work all over the city of New Orleans for homeowners.
We are looking for a qualified Carpenter to cut, fabricate and install wooden fences, decks, stairs, handrails, doors, patio covers, pergolas and other structures according to specifications. A carpenter is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements
- Build window frames, doors, staircases, decks and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items
- Lay out floor joist, roof rafters and build walls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
- Install cabinets, shelves, trim moldings and other items and install them where designated
- Inspect places and conduct repairs on soffits and fascia or maintenance
Skills
- Proven experience as carpenter
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (power saws, hammers, drills etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Good knowledge of English
- Good understanding of basic math
- Good physical condition and endurance
