The Lofts at Texarkana is seeking a dependable and professional Courtesy Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our residents and community.

This position is ideal for an active law enforcement officer who is looking for an onsite residence while providing an additional security presence during designated evening and overnight hours.

Position Overview

The Courtesy Officer serves as a visible presence throughout the apartment community, monitors the property for suspicious or unusual activity, and assists with enforcing community rules and policies. This position requires the Courtesy Officer to live onsite, and an apartment is provided as part of the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol the apartment community, parking areas, grounds, and common areas twice nightly between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM, seven nights per week.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the community.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, disturbances, safety concerns, or unusual behavior.
• Respond appropriately to resident concerns involving noise, disturbances, or potential violations of community policies.
• Contact the appropriate law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
• Document incidents and community activity accurately.
• Complete and submit required weekly activity logs.
• Communicate significant incidents or concerns to property management.
• Assist management with maintaining a peaceful and orderly community environment.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when interacting with residents, guests, employees, and vendors.
• Perform additional courtesy officer responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must currently be an active, licensed law enforcement officer.
• Must have successfully completed an accredited law enforcement/police academy.
• Must be employed as a law enforcement officer within the same city/municipality as the apartment community.
• Must be willing and eligible to live onsite at The Lofts at Texarkana.
• Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with residents and guests.
• Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
• Dependable and able to complete required nightly patrols and weekly reporting.
• Must remain in good standing with the employing law enforcement agency.

Onsite Apartment Provided

An onsite apartment is provided as part of the Courtesy Officer position. The Courtesy Officer is required to reside at the community in order to provide the designated onsite presence and complete required patrol responsibilities.
