Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools, brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray equipment), and power tools
- Conduct surface repairs such as plastering, drywall patching, masonry work, stucco application, and fixture installation for seamless renovation results
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by utilizing respiratory protection equipment and following proper handling procedures for hazardous materials
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly
Skill
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns; power tools including sanders and airless sprayers; welding equipment is a plus
- Familiarity with construction painting surface preparation methods like sanding, priming, plastering, masonry work, stucco application, and restoration projects
- Ability to operate spray painting equipment including conventional spraying systems and airless paint sprayers efficiently
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction painting including respiratory protection protocols and proper handling of hazardous substances
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces accurately and calculating material needs
