Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) – Private Practice
Location: Richmond, VA (West End) and Mechanicsville, VA
Job Type: Full-Time, Monday - Friday (No weekends or on-call!)

The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our close-knit clinical team. A pediatric nurse in this setting provides specialized care under the supervision of our lead RN and Pediatricians. You will serve as a key point of contact for families, guiding them through their healthcare journeys and ensuring every child receives the best possible start to a healthy life.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Perform clinical duties such as rooming patients, taking vital signs, obtaining height/weight, and assessing physical and developmental conditions.
- Clinical Procedures: Administer childhood vaccinations, perform finger-sticks, and collect diagnostic samples (blood, urine).
- Medical Skills: Perform urinary catheterization, securing intravenous access, and supporting physicians during pediatric emergencies (rapid assessment, immediate stabilization and airway support, activation of practice protocols, deployment or setup of medication and equipment, and communication/logistics coordination).
- Patient Education: Translate complex medical information into easy-to-understand guidance for parents regarding medication regimens, at-home care, and wellness maintenance.
- Triage & Triage Support: Answer clinical triage calls, assess symptoms, and consult with pediatricians to determine the appropriate level of care.
- Charting & Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date Electronic Medical Records (EMR) following all federal and state nursing regulations.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience, with specific experience in pediatrics, family medicine, or ambulatory care strongly preferred.
- Certifications: Current BLS certification.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional bedside manner, communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: Hourly pay determined by experience, considerations start at $34.00/hour
