What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Store Associate position at Richmond Flying Squirrels?
The Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, are looking for part-time Team Store Associates to assist with the operations of the Squirrels Nest Team Store. The Squirrels Nest Team Store is the official team store of the Richmond Flying Squirrels, open six days a week year-round and offering fans a destination for team merchandise, apparel, and souvenirs.
The Team Store Associate is responsible for selling merchandise, providing outstanding customer service, and creating an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers and fans.
We are currently hiring staff to support WinterWorld at CarMax Park! WinterWorld operates Wednesday through Sunday, with hours generally falling between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Actual shift times and schedules will vary based on operational needs. Availability to work some holidays during the WinterWorld season will be required.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting fans and assisting them with selecting, locating, and purchasing merchandise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store appearance throughout games and events.
- Restock and straighten merchandise on the sales floor and in designated storage areas.
- Ensure merchandise is correctly stocked, tagged, sized, and displayed.
- Process sales transactions accurately by following all register procedures.
- Communicate product inventory needs, customer requests, and other observations to the Team Store Lead or Merchandise and Retail Operations team.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and restocking merchandise as needed.
- Assist with inventory counts and other routine store operations.
- Work cooperatively with other store associates and Team Store Leads to maintain an efficient and positive shopping environment.
- Follow established store procedures, customer service standards, and direction from the Team Store Lead and Merchandise and Retail Operations team.
- Make recommendations based on observations and conversations with fans and customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
- Excellent guest service skills; ability to consistently adhere to Flying Squirrels customer service standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining high standards of organization, cleanliness, and merchandise presentation.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Dependable and capable of following job guidelines, established procedures, and direction from supervisors and Team Store Leads.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with customers, fans, and coworkers.
- Availability to work at least 75% of Flying Squirrels home games, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be available to work holidays and extended hours during games and events.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for the duration of games and events.
