Dietary Aide - Yonkers, NY

Richmond Community Services, a leading nonprofit organization providing support services to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team in Yonkers.

Job Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and setting up meals, snacks, nourishments, and school lunches for staff and individuals in the facility. This role also includes ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up meals, snacks, nourishments, salads, sandwiches, desserts, coffee, and tube feedings according to dietary orders and instructions from the Dietitian.

• Operate, clean, and sanitize kitchen equipment, food trucks, meal trays, tables, and countertops.

• Transport food carts weighing up to 60 lbs throughout the facility using elevators; when elevators are not available, manually carry trays weighing up to 20 lbs up and down stairs.

• Stock and organize food storage areas; lift and carry food containers weighing up to 10 lbs.

• Ensure proper labeling of all prepared food items in English.

• Accurately fulfill food requests from staff using written orders and verbal communication.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and follow all sanitation and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a commercial food service environment preferred.

• Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; strong attention to detail; ability to follow dietary instructions; physical capability to meet lifting and transport requirements.
