Position OverviewRichman Family Services, LLC (RFS) is seeking a dependable and compassionate Family Support Specialist (FSS) to provide Socially Necessary Services (SNS) to children and families involved with the West Virginia child welfare system. Services are delivered pursuant to Bureau for Social Services (BSS) referrals and authorized through the Administrative Services Organization (ASO) under Utilization Management (UM) guidelines.The Family Support Specialist delivers structured, skill-based, and goal-oriented support designed to strengthen protective capacities, promote child safety, and assist families in achieving individualized case plan objectives in accordance with ASO service authorizations.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredValid driver’s licenseReliable transportationProof of active auto insuranceAbility to pass WV CARES background screeningAbility to maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentationEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDeliver services strictly within ASO SNS UM authorized service hours and approved scopeProvide structured, hands-on support to families in home and community settingsReinforce case plan objectives and safety expectations established by the assigned Case Manager and BSSAssist families in building practical life skills such as organization, scheduling, transportation planning, and resource follow-throughSupport caregivers in maintaining safe supervision and structured home environmentsObserve and report child safety concerns in accordance with WV mandated reporting laws and RFS policyMaintain professional boundaries and utilize strengths-based, trauma-informed approachesMaintain consistent communication with assigned Case Managers, BSS staff, and RFS leadershipDocumentation & Compliance RequirementsComplete detailed progress notes for each contact in accordance with ASO standardsSubmit biweekly paperwork, including service verification documentation and required billing materials, by established RFS deadlinesComplete and submit a comprehensive monthly summary outlining service activities, progress toward goals, and observed barriersEnsure all documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with ASO SNS Utilization Management guidelinesWork EnvironmentCommunity-based field positionFlexible scheduling within authorized service hoursIndependent contractor (1099) role
