PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL: Provide assistance and personal care, including but not limited to, feeding and bathing for people with developmental disabilities.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing supports, including direct personal care and assistance to adults with developmental disabilities who reside with us. The DSP also provides supervision and assistance with implementing goals. This position works in cooperation with other staff to assist in medical services and maintain a clean & healthy living environment. The DSP is responsible for maintaining records and may perform other related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL: High School Diploma or GED, or enrolled in program for completion within 1 year of start date; valid Ohio Driver's License and auto insurance for Group Home setting, or license and auto insurance/ State Id for Raintree, bank account; physically able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stoop, position, and transfer; successful completion of a background check, physical exam, drug test, and TB test; may be required to work independently without direct supervision.
Must be available to work additional hours when necessary. May be required to work in more than one home.
EXPERIENCE: 3 to 6 months experience in DD or related field preferred. Paid training provided.
CERTIFICATION FOR A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL: Requires completion of Delegated Nursing Certification for group home setting during first 30 days. Complete and maintain First Aid and CPR certification on an ongoing basis. Training for courses is provided at no cost to employee. Employee is paid hourly rate for all training (Delegated Nursing, First Aid, CPR, etc). TB testing required annually.
