Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Carpenter specializing in structural wood blocking, door installations, and division 10 specialty fixtures. Your primary focus will be prepping commercial interiors by installing hollow metal frames, wood blocking, toilet partitions, and tying rebar for structural reinforcement.
Core Responsibilities
- Door & Hardware Installation: Set, level, and anchor hollow metal door frames. Install commercial wood or metal doors and heavy-duty architectural hardware.
- Structural Backing: Install wood blocking and backing inside wall cavities to support heavy wall-mounted fixtures, cabinetry, and equipment.
- Specialty Fixtures: Assemble and anchor commercial toilet partitions, washroom accessories, and related division 10 materials.
- Concrete & Rebar Prep: Place, position, and tie rebar or wire mesh to reinforce concrete forms and pads prior to pours.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret commercial hardware schedules, submittals, and architectural drawings to ensure precise placement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 2 years of commercial carpentry experience, with specific hands-on experience setting metal frames and commercial blocking.
- Tool Proficiency: Mastery of powder-actuated tools (Hilti guns), impact drills, laser levels, and rebar tying tools.
- Precision: Strong layout skills to ensure frames and partitions are perfectly plumb, square, and level.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle heavy steel frames, lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and work on ladders or scaffolding.
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
