We are seeking a hands-on Health & Safety (HSE) Coordinator to support a regulated chemical manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment through proactive safety leadership, regulatory oversight, and daily engagement with plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and hazard identification across plant operations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHS, DOT, and other regulatory requirements
- Lead incident and accident investigations, corrective actions, and documentation
- Develop, revise, and implement SOPs, training programs, and safety procedures
- Issue and manage hot work, confined space, and other required permits
- Maintain safety records, SDS documentation, inspection logs, and regulatory reports
- Serve as the leader of the plant safety committee, driving safety culture and engagement
- Provide hands-on support across the facility to reinforce safe work practices
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field
- 3–5 years of HSE experience in chemical, industrial, or highly regulated manufacturing preferred
- Experience with scheduling, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and safe work permitting
- Experience conducting inspections, training, and incident investigations
- Forklift experience a plus
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; comfortable working on the plant floor
